DID SOMEBODY SAY AUTUMN DECOR?!

I know, I know... we've reached September already! Where has this year gone?! I'm secretly excited the seasons have changed, I am sooo ready for knitted jumpers, fluffy socks, bubble baths, the smell of pumpkin candles, winter walks, cosy pub lunches and of course... styling my home for autumn!
I do try and be practical whilst changing my interior decor throughout the seasons, I buy cushion covers rather than a whole new cushion, I store away any decor items to reuse again and I always try to purchase items from car-boot sales, charity shops and my favourite place, the tip shop.
Cushions, cushions, cushions, anybody that knows me will know the love I have for cushions! They are the finishing touch to any bed or sofa. Styling Advice: Mix up the textures, colours and patterns to create an expensive feel. Size matters! Place cushions in size order and stagger in quantities. Always use odd numbers!

If you don't go to TKMaxx/HomeSense and smell every autumn themed candle then you are truly missing out! Hands down, my favourite candle of all time is one from TKMaxx, 'DW Home - Vanilla Pumpkin'. The smell enriches my house within a few moments of being lit, it really is the most amazing autumn smell! The look of the candle is also very sweet, featuring a gold lid, embossed with a pumpkin.
Another great way to change up dining decor is by adding seasonal flowers, table runners and napkins! For a focal point try adding autumnal foliage, branches and berries.

Table runners work well when adding colour and texture to a table setting. Unfortunately, HomeSense do not have an online shopping service however I highly recommend taking a look at their table running section... it is amazing! Always reasonably priced but lavish looking.

Styling Advice: Layer your tableware, start with a large plate, medium size plate and then a folded napkin. To add an extra special touch include, a flower or sprig of herbs.
Pumpkin spice and everything nice! Who doesn't love a decorative pumpkin!
A mix of decorative pumpkins is a simple way to add colour and character to any room. Try to use different sizes and textures with a mix of candles or simply add a pine cone or two! You can find these in most parks this time of the year, they fall between September to December.
Styling advice: The rule of odd numbers is super important when styling! Try to use groups of 3, keeping to this rule will stop any display becoming cluttered.
Recycling tip! As Christmas approaches (sorry to mention the C word!) you could always spray the pine cones with snow spray or even a touch of glitter! These can be inserted into garlands, wreaths or placed into glass vases!
Coffee tables are often the focal point in a living room, styling your seasonal display here is perfect! Consider the proportion of your items, make sure they do not take over the whole space but also not too small they are lost.
